In springtime short turf is growing everywhere, with a
number of "small flowers" scattered in. It reminds you Botticelli's
painting, and it is a ravishing sight. You may find different flower
according to elevation and soil. Everywhere Oxalis pes-caprae is growing,
it is in fact a troublesome south-african weed. Several "daisies" are also
common: yeloow to orange Calendula, gold-yellow Chrysanthemum coronarium.
In mountains you can also find an Erodium and a Geranium (tuberosum ?). A
number of Leguminosae (peas and trifolium family) are also blooming, most
of them being yellow, several Coronilla, Vicia and Lotus can be seen; but
one of the most striking member of the family is a red-flowered
